Clove Oil

Description

Clove Bud essential oil (Syzygium aromaticum) is obtained by distilling the flower buds of the clove tree. Very rich in eugenol, it releases a warm, spicy and enveloping aroma that is especially prized in diffusion to freshen and scent the atmosphere. This is a powerful, dermocaustic essential oil: it should only be applied to the skin when very heavily diluted in a vegetable oil, and never used neat. In a well-diluted massage, it offers a pleasant sensation of warmth. Traditionally associated with wintery, spiced atmospheres, it fits into your well-being rituals with care.

How to use

Diffusion: a few drops (alone or in a blend) in a diffuser, in short 10-15 minute sessions in a ventilated room. Massage: dilute very heavily, about 1 drop per 10 to 15 drops of vegetable oil (max ~1%), on a small area. Precautions: a powerful, dermocaustic essential oil — never apply neat to the skin or mucous membranes, and never ingest. Always carry out a skin patch test on the inner elbow 48 hours before use. Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or young children. Keep out of reach of children and avoid the eye area. Store away from light and heat.
